UK Fly Ins 1998
I'm afraid details of these are a bit scarce. If you happen to spot one of your models here and would like to send me some details of it I will be most grateful. HayesThe fly in at the Hayes club was organised as usual by Dave Chinnery on one of the few good days in 1998. As you can see see from the photos a good range of models were present.
General view of the assembled multitude
A couple of sports models
Gordon Whitehead's 1/4 scale SE5A in an unusual American colour scheme
Line up of models for the peer-judged Best Scale and Best Vintage models. Festival of Electric Flight, Middle WallopAmazingly the Festival of Electric flight at Middle Wallop in June also had decent weather though it was a bit breezy at times. This is a 2-day meeting with competitions on Saturday and general fun flying and the traditional luchtime AULD (All Up Last Down) on the Sunday. Again there was a good turn-out of modellers and also most of the well-known traders. The pictures are all from Sunday
The AULD competitors get away. A good entry.
One of the more interesting shapes to be seen.
Multi-engine subjects are relatively easy to model with electrics. Certainly these both flew very nicely.
Moths of all sorts always look good and fly equally well.
This Vulcan was newly fitted with fans to replace pusher props if my memory serves.
And it looks really good in the air |
